Yuigahama is arguably the most representative beach in Kamakura

This summer, the beach was open for swimming from July 1st to August 31st

 

I live along Yuigahama Beach

Every summer, I like to casually visit a beachside cafe and enjoy a resort-like atmosphere close to home

 

I had pancakes for breakfast at a beachside restaurant that's open from the morning

 

After work, I go out to eat with friends

I tried going to a live event

I tried joining the circle and dancing at the "Beach Bon Odori Festival"

I made lots of fun memories this summer

 

Yuigahama Beach celebrated its 130th anniversary last year

This was one of the pioneering locations for Japanese beach resorts, which began in the Meiji era

I have seen it before,

Stylish parasols spread across the entire beach as if competing with each other

The scene was bustling with many people

It was far more stylish than I had imagined, and I was honestly surprised

I think it has always remained at the forefront of trends as a place for summer entertainment

 

Since last year, the poor manners of some beachgoers have become a problem,

Compared to last year, I was able to enjoy the beach huts with much more peace of mind this year

Is it the effect of awareness campaigns, regulations, and patrols aimed at improving manners?

 

Yuigahama Beach is a beach that maintains freedom and morality

I hope it will continue to be an attractive place that draws many people in the future
